Train to be Me!

This morning's 'meeting' was much nicer than most. It was on the towpath - and it moved along the towpath! That meant I got to walkies and sniffies all the way - and back again! The humans seemed to be yacketying all about the trees and hedges and other green things and sticks. I watered a few of their subjects. I hope that helped! I met a lovely pooch pal too. Her name was Bonny and she was a very bouncy Husky x Rottie. We sooooo wanted to play but weren't allowed. Bonny's humanmum said she would probably end up falling into the canal! Maybe she is not such an experienced waterdog as I am! We had to content ourselves with a big of lead-knitting and a few play bows and a little boxing.

We also met a couple of nice humans who are Guide Dogs workypeople. They were most complimentary about me! Well..thank you! The ladyhuman knows my doggygranny Charlotte, doggymummy Bailey and my sister Opal, as well as my Daddy Dixon. She said she was a workyperson at the Guide Dogs National Breeding Centre when my Daddy Dixon and Mummy Bailey did their doggydancing together. I have no idea what that means but it was nice to meet them!

After that, we set off for workywalkies into town again. Yet more visits to talkybone shops. One for Mum's talkybone; it seems she needs lessons in how to use it! The other one was for Dad's talkybone; he needed a new teenyweeny plastic rectangle to feed to it. We went into another couple of boring shops too. Nothing worth reporting, just lots of keeping Mum from bumping into everything!

The most important call was to 'Find the Post Office', where we dispatched another batch of my calendars. This is all good. More shinydisks into the funds for sponsoring another pup to be trained to be a 'me'.

Shaved Crows!

Testing out the results of Mum's hours of twiddling with a shinyhookstick and long tails. I think I approve! Comfy!

She says no dribbling!......How rude is that?! After all my hard work guiding her this morning in this new town! 4.28 miles of 'find left', 'find right', 'find the crossing', 'get the button', 'find the way out'........I think I deserve a bit of a dribble!

Photo shows me asleep on my bed on the sofa, with my head on the big multicoloured cushions that Mum crowshaved the covers for.

Beastie Rumbler!

I do rather like this mooring! It comes with a built-in freerun along the towpath, up and over a little bridge over the canal and into a park! And, the bonus is that the route is all so good that Mum can manage it (in good light) without me on harness!

That is how today started. It got better when we reached the park - I found a superb buddy to chase with, roll with and have a good old boxing match with! His name was Arnold and he was a big choccy Labrador. We had a fab time! Sadly it had to end though and I had to take Mum back to floatyboatyhome to fetch Dad. Then it was into workywalkies mode and into town.

The first bit was only across the road to a human yummyery/drinking room. That meant I was under the table on the hard cold floor. It seems it was for one of those blimming meeting things that humans seem to do. Why can't they just meet and converse like dogs do - I mean - like - properly.? .... a quick sniff of the important places and we get all the conversation we need!

There were some nice humans there, who gave me some nice fusses. One of them was Monty's Mum that we met yesterday. Monty wasn't there though :(

After all that, we headed off into the town shoppyplaces. It was great to be working guiding Mum on completely new territory. I got to 'get the button' at lots of crossings! Yummy work! It seems to make people's mouths go up at the corners when I hup to show Mum where the button is! That has to be a good thing!

The afternoon has been a snoozy time while Mum has been tippetytapping on her compooter thingy. Dad disappeared down the hole in the back deck for a while and seemed to be getting eaten by the big rumbly monster that lives down there. Dad came back with very black icky front paws! He seems to have survived his encounter with the beastie though. I took him out for a leisure walkies to recover!

Standing by the Spending Room...

Another day of exhausting fuss and admiration!

It all started with a workywalkies to the train station. When the train arrived a nice manhuman did something called 'upgrade us' to the posh bit. That meant I got a bit extra room to lie down in front of Mum and Dad's paws. Mum and Dad got hot black water too! That nice manhuman gave me some super fusses and ear-rubs. I liked him!

When we got off the train I recognized where we were. Mum didn't need to give me any directions. I simply guided her flawlessly to the huuuuuuuuugenormous hall. Mum says the place is called the Birmingham Ennysee. I galloped along - really excited to strut my stuff helping Mum. Dad was tagging along behind us somewhere. It is quite a long walk through looooooong corridors, some with strange moving floor things. I avoided them and took Mum down the side of them. We were going faster than the people on the moving floor! At the end of all of those, I found the door we needed that led to the stairs. Mum was super impressed with me for that. I don't think she had remembered any of the way!

Last time we were here, it was full of shiny white homeboxes on wheels. This time it was torture!!!! It was full of yummies! Millions of yummies! Mouth-dripping yummies! All up on tables and things so out of bounds to me! Haaaarrrrrruuuuummmmpppphhhh! I did manage to snaffle a few hooverings though. Not as many as I could have done if Mum wasn't keeping such a tight upward lift on my head via lead and noseband! Hufff!

I managed to weave our way through gazillions of humans and found the Guide Dogs stand. That was a fantabulous end to my work for a while! It was time to meet and greet and kanoodle and play (in a restricted kind of way) with loads of colleague dogs. After the initial greetings though, we all to put on our 'professional' heads and do our stuff at being admired and fussed and loved. It seems that this produces shinydisks from all the visitors and that all helps to train more puppies to be life changers like me!

Mum did oooooooodles of yacketying with oooooodles of visitors. She was telling them all about how amazing I am. By mid afternoon, my head must have swelled up because I simply couldn't hold it up any longer so I simply curled up beside Mum, who was sitting on the floor. I think that little snooze allowed my head to shrink again so I could hold it up afterwards.

Now, after a not so good journey home (the train was sooo crowded that we had to stand beside the stinky human spending room), it seems that the glowing hotbox is making my eyelids very heavy now!

Fusses from the nice manhuman on the train. He crouched down beside Mum so I could enjoy his attentions.

Meeting and greeting doggy style - a good sniff of the vitals tells us all we need to know.

Puppy playtime. Well....actually, the manhuman Puppywalker had a very interesting stuffed bone in his front paw!

Snoozing on the job. Mum and Alistair (a manhuman Guide Dogs volunteer pal), sitting on the green floor with me curled up snatching some zzzzs.

A new Playmate... Buckie!!!!

Now I've recovered from the shock of discovering Mum's fraudulent actions, memory is returning. I took Daddy for a leisure walkies. I found a new playmate on the towpath this morning! His name is Buckie, a 10 month old Beagle cross pup.

When we first met, Buckie's ladyhuman was nervous because she rescued Buckie a month ago. She thought that when he woofed at me he was being a bit nasty. Between Dad and I, we reassured her, and we ended up with a great bit of playtime! Actually, his woofs and playbows were just an invitation to play. Of course, I was happy to oblige! Hope we meet again.

Me and Buckie taking a little break!

Pooch Pawlice Required. Urgently!!!

I caught Mummy red-pawed. She is a cheat and a fraud!

When I get a yummy for good works, it now transpires that it is only a tiny BIT of a yummy! I caught her in the act of cutting them all up! What a con! It seems I have to do about six 'good jobs' before I get one treat! I'm calling the pooch pawlice!

Mummy caught Red Pawed in the act!
